Give Back
Give Back, Volunteer, and Make the World a Better Place
Wouldn’t it be cool to raise $100,000 for a charity you believe in? I think so. Raising $1,000,000 would be even better! That’s why many of my adventures and events are designed to bring people together and give back to charities and organizations that are making the world a better place. Some of the events will be fundraisers and others may provide volunteer opportunities. I will also donate a portion of the proceeds earned from training classes, speaking, and gear sales.
The organizations I am supporting are:
Youth on Their Own:
Youth on Their Own is a local Tucson non-profit organization that supports homeless and at-risk teens with the goal of helping them graduate from high school.
State agencies struggle to identify how many unaccompanied and homeless teens reside in Arizona. Recent studies indicate that there may be as many as two million homeless children nationwide. Apart from the very real human tragedy, this issue has a significant economic impact on our communities.
Youth on Their Own is making a huge difference here in Southern Arizona and has supported more than 15,000 teens to date!
Cool Earth
Cool Earth is a charity that works alongside indigenous villages to halt rain forest destruction. They provide local villages with the resources to preserve rain forests in part through traditional conservation methods and in part by strengthening local services such as schools and clinics.
Cool Earth is the official charity of the Adventurists, who happen to host the Rickshaw Run that I am participating in later in 2015.
